Bluetooth On iPhone 6 keeps dropping connection...
I am running an iPhone 6 w/ iOS 8.3 and on the second day of receiving my watch, the connection has continually dropped. I can see the Bluetooth icon in the menu bar at the top of the iPhone flash on and off, and when I check the Bluetooth in Settings, it says it's not connected to the watch.
Sometimes I will see the disconnected iPhone icon at the top of the watch. If I notice, I toggle the airplane mode on and off and it reconnects.
Is this happening to anyone else?
Hi Phillip. This is normally caused by interference with another Bluetooth device. The best way to fix this is to reset your network settings and re-pair Watch. I would recommend unpairing the Watch first. If you are using any other constant Bluetooth device that is connected to your iPhone, you may continue to see this problem reoccur. I specifically had this issue with Pebble and Fitbit devices together. When I stopped using Fitbit, the problem was resolved. Hope that helps.
Cheers,
Brandon
interesting...I don't have this issue with my WATCH, but I do have this problem with my mfi game controller.
I have a MOGA Rebel mfi game controller for my iPhone 6 running 8.1.3
when i play games with this controller, it often drops connection, which is the same as you described, the bluetooth icon flash on and off...
I tried everything i could but still can't get rid of this problem. It just made me gave up playing games with controller.
Hope Apple can get all the bluetooth glitches fixed in iOS9
I have this same problem. iPhone 6 8.3 and Apple Watch. Will drop connection when I'm watching it from the iPhone that is 1 foot from the watch
I know the watch radio is working because with the phone turned off in my house, Siri works fine via Wi-fi. Also, the phone works with my car's bluetooth.
Furthermore, my father has an Apple Watch and it works fine with an iPhone 5 iOS 8.3
At this point, I think it's an iPhone 6 issue with low power bluetooth (which is what the watch uses as opposed to what my car uses).
I've started to have this problem out of nowhere a few days ago. Bluetooth is consistently disconnecting a few times per day now, but it worked fine for 3 weeks since I got my apple watch. What is extremely strange is the wifi on my iPhone drops and it can only see 5 ghz networks... Turning Bluetooth on/off resolves the connection to the apple watch (Bluetooth reconnects) AND wifi networks are visible again on the iPhone. Do I have a faulty radio in my iPhone or is this a software bug??? A restore and reset of network settings did not help :/

Tried repairing multiple times. Same issue. (I hate answers like that, it's like when IT punts and tells you to reboot your computer).
I really think it's a low power bluetooth issue with the iPhone 6 and iOS 8.3. Like I said I can go to iPhone Bluetooth and constantly see the watch go from "Connected" to "Not connected" when it's about 1 foot away. I don't have that problem with my car (but that's Bluetooth 2.0 versus the Watch at Low Power Bluetooth 4.0).
I'm going to pair the watch with my sister's iPhone 5s and see if the performance is better. I'm willing to bet that it is (since my dad's watch works fine with his iPhone 5).
Hate is a strong work. I am sorry that you were not happy with the response but lets remember its free advice based upon very limited information. It's certainly possible this is a device specific problem, and it it is, a forum cannot fix that. The forum will assist in common problems that others have already experienced and found a resolution too. Best of luck resolving your issue. Apple Support is good for 90 days, maybe you should start there.
Phil,
I believe I have fixed the problem with some harsh medicine. I did a full factory restore on my iPhone 6 and set it up as a new phone then paired the watch. So far so good. No constantly dropping connection. I will let you know if anything changes.
I believe some internal settings for the bluetooth were incorrect / corrupted. I suggest that you not use a backup because you just may be restoring bad settings over good.
I'm having a similar bluetooth drop issue in my car with my iPhone 6s. In the middle of a call, I'll hear the disconnect tones... my stereo kicks back on... but the call is still in progress. A second or two later, the phone reconnects to the car's bluetooth and call resumes. Very annoying, and it did not happen with my iPhone 5 in the same car (made hundreds of calls over three years with that combination). It's happened at least a dozen times over the last three weeks with my new 6s.
No other bluetooth devices in the vicinity, and the 6s is the only device paired with the car - I removed the 5's profile (not that I should have to - the bluetooth spec allows and should handle multiple devices).
This is probably a car problem check with your dealership. Ford has a known issue and a patch was issued but has to be installed by the dealer or by downloading the file onto a jump drive and installing.
LOL - seriously?
So after three years of working perfectly through hundreds of calls, I change one (1) variable... the phone... and you conclude it's THE CAR? The same car that worked fine for three years and hundreds of calls with an iPhone 5?
Seriously?
How exactly did you come to this conclusion?
Having exactly the same problem. No problem with my 5s, but all of a sudden I get then regular drops. Like it loses interest after 5 minutes and then comes back. No problem with music streaming to the car, but the phone drops. Really irritating.
I have the same exact problem, and it's not the car. It happens in my car and with my BlueAnt headset -- both of which worked without incident when connecting to my iPhone 5s. Any insight would be appreciated. Assertions deflecting away from the issues (like saying it's the car) only serve to heighten frustration.
I'm having this exact issue and it's driving me crazy. iPhone 6s and Apple Watch Bluetooth stays connected for 24-48 hours, then drops and will not reconnect unless I toggle Bluetooth on my iPhone. During this time, all of my other Bluetooth devices connect which to me suggests an issue with low power Bluetooth.
I am having the same issue. i think that iOS 9.1 is also broken. I had iPhone 6 with iOS 8. No issues. Both iPhone 6 and 6s after upgrading to iOS 9, major from outs exactly as Gary described above. Very frustrating. Apple please fix this. Regretting the upgrade to iOS 9
