mac screen turning black and flickering at restart

I have a MacbookPro 15 inch - purchased in Sept 2016 with OS Sierra 10.12.6

 

Starting a week ago i was working on my computer and the screen went darkblue all of a sudden. At restart, the screen starting flickering with the apple sign moving up and down the screen. This pattern is being repeated frequently, especially when mac goes to sleep.

 

I am not sure if this problem is related to software update - I have installed Sierra update 10.12.6 on 5 days ago.

 

How can i make sure if it a software or hardware problem?

Is there a way to solve it or I should send my computer to apple support?
