Technical Services Issue
I have an iPad pro 12.9 that I used for 20 months. Last month when I turn on the iPad I saw some black/white points and lines on the screen. Felt a bit sad of course but also felt happy that I bought it from an official store(Zorlu in Turkey) and this happened before the warranty ends.
As I couldn't find an available reservation at the Apple store I took it to an official reseller(Pupa) for technical support. They got my iPad, took many photos of it, and they recorded as there are a few small scratches on the case, and the iPad is clean. A few days later I got a shocking SMS saying that my iPhone(yeah they wrote iPhone not iPad) had cracks on the screen and warranty is not valid anymore. I could get a replacement for around 800$ though.
I thought it was a mistake so I got my iPad back and this time got a reservation from Apple store where I bought the iPad. The employee who helped me there took the iPad, looked at it, said there's no crack but there's a small scratch near the case, which caused the points and the lines on the screen. So it's out of warranty and they can replace it for 800$. He said if I want I can go the court to get a final decision.
Now, I lost all my confidence to Apple customer support. As like most people I don't have time to deal with bureaucracy. I was planning to buy a Microsoft Surface and just move on but this hurt me a lot. I know that things don't work in US like this. So I'll sacrifice my valuable time and planning to go to the court and try to get my money back. But I know that this is not a problem about Apple, this is just a problem about the guys who handle my problem. Is there any control over these guys? I mean it must be recorded who handled my problem. I spent 300$ for covers-bags just to protect that iPad. I know that this problem was not caused by me. So is there a way that I can send this iPad to US, get it checked, and if I'm right Apple can check their operations in Turkey more carefully. Because when I was at the apple store I saw many people were not satisfied by the answers they got. The Apple I know when I was in US was all about customer satisfaction. Is there anything I can do to check this issue with Apple US?
