guided access end sound garbled

So I use Guided Access to allow my children to use my iPhone 6s+ and iPad Pro 9.7.  My iPhone has had the problem of the guided access end of time sound being garbled and I thought it was because my phone got dropped without the case once.  But my iPad Pro 9.7 has never been dropped and just started doing the same thing.  When it announces the time ending (we set time limits for the kids) it sounds garbled.  Any thoughts??  I've done everything short of resetting the iPhone and iPad.  Any tips, thoughts, help would be great.

If you hear no sound or distorted sound from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch speaker
