MacBook Pro has video freezes when using photo ...

My new workplace provided me with a new 2017 MacBook Pro, specs are as follows:

MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2017)

Processor 2.9 GHz Intel Core i7

Memory 16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3

Graphics Intel HD Graphics 630 1536 MB

Operating System Version: MacOS Sierra 10.12.6 (16G29)

Each time I try to use Photo Booth or FaceTime (basically any application that uses the builtin webcam of the mac) the fans shoot up (and yes I am resting the mac on a hard surface without blocking the vents on the side or the back).

Whilst using FaceTime I also noticed that my video has glitches if I move my head around a bit (any substantial movement that is).

To better describe the situation please see the screenshot below:

I tried to find out which process is spiking the cpu usage and it is some odd process that I do not have any idea about, see the highlighted one in my "top" screenshot below (I took this screenshot whilst FaceTime was running and the above described symptoms were occurring)

Also, the mac was plugged in while this was happening.

I have previous owned the late 2014 MacBook Pro for roughly 3 years and never had this problem with it.

Can you help me fix this issue?

Thanks

That Fah process belongs to Folding@Home. Uninstall that software, and see if this solves the issue.
