Apple watch sync on cruise ship several days

If I leave my phone off for a 5 day cruise, will the apple watch keep and sync several days of health data, once I turn back on my phone?  Or does it have to sync daily?

Hey, Jonathan:

Great news about being able to sync my watch to my iPhone while on a cruise! Can I sync via Bluetooth only, or do I need to be on the Internet?  Also - can I "force" the sync?  On a cruise ship, the bandwith is expensive, so I'd hopefully be able to sync fairly seamlessly.  Thanks!
