iMessage and ft problem

Hello, my iPad won't remember my iMessage log in.  I cant ft a contact and I think the problems are related.  I have deleted the contact and set up a new one but again the new contact does not have the fb icon.  Does anyone have any ideas?  I have reset the device and restored it but the problem won't be fixed! Thanks
