Apple Care transferable to me?

I am looking at used MacBook Pro's on ebay. If one has the extended apple care protection already purchased and shows it is good through a certain date (i.e. December 17, 2019) does that plan transfer to me automatically?  Do I need to register it or do something?  Or is it even transferable?

Yes the warranty (extended Warranty) stays with the serial number.

I would definitely get it registered in your products
