Your SIM Played a Tone

Hello everybody!

I have a message few times a day with text "Your SIM played a tone" and two options (Cancel, Accept). Nothing happens for any option I choose.

Could you please clarify me what is it about? and how I can switch it off?

thanks in advance

Anyone can help my problem? What about Apple, please solve my problem

Does this have anything to do with a 3G card you have in the iPad - do you have 3G and use a sim card?

I have exactly the same issue... So, I just join to question.
Thx in advance.

Hello guys
I've found something useful. Try to switch message receiving off in Settings-Phone-Sim Application(Carrier settings etc.) Names may vary.
It looks like an USSD-query.

If I switch off the message receiving thing, would I still able to know whether I need to top up my balance?

Long time later but I see more have asked.  The message is related to a SIM Application that carriers purchase.  Very dodgy, it vaguely refers to social address book , swaps out information among SIM and with network.   I cancelled mine immediately.  Can be found in Phone, SIM Applications.

Dear ios7 users,

I have found a fix for this.

Go to settings-->Privacy---->Location services-----> scroll down for System Services and turn off Location-Based iAds.

This will definitely work.

@Prasanth

I turn off the settings what you mentioned(Location - Based), still i am getting a same alert

Please advise

Open Settings > Phone > SIM Applications then turn off the CallerXChange Service or anything similiar to that....this works

This works, thanks. I understand the "Your SIM Played a Tone" message is a limitation of iOS in how it works with SIM apps like banking, top up or this contact exchange service. On other types of phones it would beep like you have a text.

See what Maasai said. It works:

Open Settings > Phone > SIM Applications then turn off the CallerXChange Service or anything similiar to that.

NO option give in sim application like callerxchange

try to check your sim case. maybe the sim's not correct with the case.

The best option is to call your Sim Customer Care (E.g.: Vodafone / Airtel) and tell them to deactivate the flash message service.

I faced the similar issue yesterday but after deactivation, I am not receiving any message. Thanks.
