Authorized but not Authorized?


Setting up my daughter's new MacBook Pro.

  • Added her applied to our family sharing.
  • Authorized her computer using iTunes and get confirmation that it is authorized.
  • Try to download any of the family shared purchases from iTunes and get prompted that computer is not authorized.
  • Attempt to authorize the computer and get error indicating the computer is already authorized.
  • So...we download the tracks and copy onto my daughter's computer.
  • Try to play the tracks and get prompted that computer is not authorized.
  • Attempt to authorize the computer and get error indicating the computer is already authorized.
  • So...logout of iTunes with my daughter's Apple ID and login with my Apple ID
  • Download any of the family shared purchases from iTunes and like magic the tracks play fine
  • Logout of my iTunes account and log in with my daughter's Apple ID and tracks play fine

 

Why do I need to login as me in order to download tracks?
