iCloud Add
I have installed and synced the iCloud add-in with Microsoft Outlook 2013 (32-bit) on my Windows 8 (64-bit) desktop. It has worked reliably for more than one year, reliably syncing data between my PC, "the cloud" and my iPhone 4s. A few days ago, I noticed that the add-in was not enabled in Outlook. I enabled it via "file", "Options", "Add-ins" in Outlook and it then worked just fine. However, each time I closed Outlook and re-opened it, the add-in had once again been disabled and had to be manually enabled again.
I have uninstalled iCloud, "repaired" Outlook, re-installed iCloud and the situation has not resolved itself. I have now gotten used to the hassle of manually enabling the add-in each time I open Outlook, but I would obviously prefer to get things operating properly.
An suggestions how to solve this issue?
I have had this issue on three separate PCs. It's maddening but I have found a solution that works (at least on my PCs). I fixed it with this tip I picked up in another forum. Here are the steps:
1 Connect to Outlook 2013 as Administrator (right click Outlook icon and select 'Run as Administrator')
2 Disable Icloud Addin (In Outlook Options)
3 Close Outlook and restart PC
4 Run Outlook 2013 as Administrator
5 Reactivate Icloud Addin
6 Close Outlook 2013
7 Restarted Outlook 2013 as normal User
Have had no issues since. This fix worked on both Outlook 2010 (one install) and 2013 (two installs) for me. My theory is that something done in the enablement step requires actual 'Administrator' instead of delegated 'Administrator' rights.
Happy trails, I hope it works for you too!
I too had this issue and after several days of reading post after post I tried the following at it worked for me. Before hand I tried repairing and re-installing the iCloud for Window program, going into add-in within Outlook and enabling the add-in which never stayed or worked. I did the following and it worked great. Outlook is back to working like normal.
- In Outlook 2013 go to File >Options >Add-Ins >Click "GO" at the Manage: COM Add-in. Here you will select the iCloud Outlook: Add-in and hit Remove >OK
- In Outlook 2013 go to File >Account Setting drop down >Account Settings. Under the E-mail tab select the iCloud account you are having issues with and remove it. Close Outlook once done
- Now open Control Panel >Uninstall Programs > Select iCloud >Change >Remove
- Restart your Computer
- Download the iCloud for Windows (icloudsetup.exe) >Run >Follow prompts for user name and password. This will setup iCloud for Outlook once again.
- In Outlook 2013 go to File >Options >Add-Ins >Click "GO" at the Manage: COM Add-ins >Add > add the APLXOD32.dll from your files. Mine was located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common FIles\Apple\Internet Services\APLZOD32.dll
- Launch Outlook 2013 again
Now you should see the "refresh" icon again within Outlook 2013.
HI,
I installed/ran a large Windiws 2010 update and shortly after could not access my iCloud calendars and contacts in Outlook. Researched on line and saw that update #KB3114409 was causing Outlook to start in safe mode. While in safe mode, outlook dones not function fully, disabling the icloud/refresh setting. I found articles on line and on the Windiws website about problems with the referenced update; and recommended installing the referenced update file. They also offer another patch to fix the bad one (I did not install this patch).
I uninstalled, the referenced update patch (kb3114409), and everything is working now in outlook -my cloud settings , refresh button etc. Restarted my PC and everything is still good!
jayc2111,
About item 2. Under the E-mail tab select the iCloud account you are having issues with and remove it.
Isn't it "Data Files" tab?
I have struggled with this for hours. I tried at LEAST 5-6 fixes that I found here and on other forums. Never worked. Actually running Outlook at Administrator worked great, but I thought that was simply a temporary solution.
For me, jayc2111 hit the nail on the head. His post is copied here. I am not sure WHY adding the plugin by browsing to the file (.dll) worked while simply letting the plug-in do it for you did NOT work. But, lo and behold, I blindly followed the below procedure and Outlook is working perfectly with iCloud. Being a programmer myself, it always bothers me when installs don't "connect" the right pieces and force us all to go hunting for mysterious solutions to these problems. But, that's what forums are all about.
Thanks jac2111. Not sure how you stumbled on this solution, but I was ready to pull my hair out until this worked for me....
This didn't work for me. What did is Allison's suggestion and I'm using Windows 10/ Outlook 2013-Office Pro Plus. Also seems to work with Windows 7 and 8:
Start Menu > regedit
Select :
Computer/HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTWARE/MICROSOFT/OFFICE/OUTLOOK/ADDINS - Apple.DAV.Addin -
On the right, double-click on LoadBehavior and check the value: if it say 0, set it to 3.
I've read many solutions using Windows 10/ Office Pro Plus 2013/ Outlook and this was only one that worked and easy fix. Says also worked on Windows 7 and 8.
Start Menu > regedit
Select :
Computer/HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTWARE/MICROSOFT/OFFICE/OUTLOOK/ADDINS - Apple.DAV.Addin -
On the right, double-click on LoadBehavior and check the value: if it say 0, set it to 3.
Ignore solution of trying to sign into outlook as admin/ uncheck icloud add-in/ restarting computer/ reopening Outlook as admin/ turning add-in back on/ signing out and back into Outlook normally.
oops-
when i tried to make changes in my calendar, it disabled and restarted Outlook. No prob. I made calendar corrections and enabled icloud add-in again and opens every time enabled.
Windows 10 and Outlook 2016 user here. Latest version of ICloud installed from scratch and also all office updates.
Disables addin. It says "enabled by administrator but disabled because it prevents outlook from functioning correctly".
Have registry set to 3 and also the resiliency entry on registry at 1.
What else? Change to a Mac
Worked perfect! Also works for the Skype add-in!

I too had the same problem as Love to Ski and Petermst and I did what LoS advised. Unfortunately it did not work for me so I followed Ritzput1’s recommendation of changing the value from 0 to 3 in HKEY_CURRENT USER and “Voila” – all good.
Unfortunately after following your steps 1 – 7 initially I ran iCloud so that I could check the box for Mail, Calendars & Tasks in Outlook.
When I do the following occurs :-
1. I tick the box and press the ‘Apply’ button
2. A dialogue box for Outlook set up for iCloud comes up asking me to select either “All Calendars” or “Some Calendars”.
3. When I select “All Calendars” an error message comes up stating
“Your set up couldn’t be started because of an unexpected error (0x80070005)”.
4. I have “Tried again” numerous times but keep getting the same error.
I have Googled “Error 0x80070005 but a lot of the so-called fixes are just ruses to download proprietary programs.
Does anyone have any suggestions how to fix this problem?

Hi Love to Ski
I managed to fix my problem but now I have a new one. When I reinstalled iCloud and married it into Outlook I don't have a Refresh button in the Outlook Toolbar Ribbon
Any suggestions?
