Apple Watch Not Syncing Contacts/No Siri

Hey everyone,

I recently purchased an Apple Watch Series 2. I paired it with my phone and updated the OS to 3.2.3. My phone is an iPhone 6 running 10.3.3.

In short, here are the symptoms I've experienced.

1) I can receive text messages and phone calls on my watch, but there are no contacts shown, only phone numbers.

2) Siri cannot make phone calls from my watch, but Siri does work from my phone. "Uh oh... I can't make your phone call." or "Sorry, I don't see '______' in your contacts. Can you try again?"

3) When I make changes to the watch face from the Watch app on my phone, they do not get updated on my watch.

Here is what I have tried:

1) Unpairing and re-pairing through the Watch app.

2) Hard reset (by holding down both buttons on the sides of the watch) both with the iPhone on and off.

3) Physically returning the watch and getting a different one. I was encouraged to do this by a genius at a local Apple Store since I was having these problems 2 days after purchasing the watch. I am having the same problems with the 2nd watch which makes me think this might be a phone problem?

4) On iPhone going to settings->clicking my name -> iCloud -> and toggling contacts on and off

5) In the Watch app clicking General -> Reset -> Reset Sync Data

In short, I am frustrated. Any thoughts on what else I can try?

It does sound like an iPhone problem, you might want to try restoring it in iTunes from your backup. Also toggle Bluetooth off and then on. If that does not work make another Genius Bar appointment and have them check your iPhone.

Thanks for the suggestion. I normally save my settings to iCloud, but created a backup on iTunes. I then did a restore. Interestingly enough, now my bluetooth has stopped working completely. My phone now does not recognize my watch and visa-versa.

I'm going to try doing another restore tonight and see how that goes. Crazy!
