Id for Updating ipad app

When updating ipad app it requires a user id and password.

I have changed my user id and password on the ipad and my apple account.

This is not reflected in the id that app shows.  Essentially

the app continues to show the old user id and prevents me for updating.  Is there a way of

correcting this?  The only solution I have found is to delete the

app and reinstall it- which recognized the new id/password.
