iCloud Drive Uploading icon stuck

Hey guys,

I've been facing the following issue for 3 days now and I don't know what to do any further.

Look at this screenshot:

This icon will remain until I upload something to the iCloud Drive and it keeps coming back everytime I open Finder again.

I tried everything:

I analyzed the bird process with brctl. I signed out of iCloud and back in and uploaded all my files back to iCloud, I started my Mac in recovery mode to make sure there are no disk issues, I even reinstalled Sierra but nothing, really nothing seems to help.

Everything else like uploading new data or changing things are perfectly mirrored across my devices. It is the icon which drives me crazy. After restarting Finder it disappears but secondly after, it comes back.

I don't know what is going on with my iCloud Drive and I don't know if its uploading something in the background or if it's a server side issue.

I hope you guys can help me out, please!

I solved it by using the terminal command that shows hidden data. I emptied the .Trash directory which was corrupt.

srsly no one?

And I'll take it one step further. If you click on the round  "gauge", it opens up this window, which never ever changes.  Annoying!

Do you have more detail on what you did? How did showing hidden data fix the problem?
