How do I use my Time Capsule as a wired backup ...

Hello, I've searched the internet up and down for this and there's about 1000 answers out there but I can't find one with my exact setup and am just confusing myself more and more.

What I'm trying to accomplish: use my Time Capsule as a wired backup disk only since I don't have a router.

Here is my situation: I live in an apartment complex and connect to the internet on my MacBook Pro using Xfinity WiFi, therefore I have no router. There is a Comcast login screen I used one time, and it's remembered it forever. I own a 2TB Time Capsule that was previously setup the "normal" way at a past residence using WiFi and a router.

Since I don't have a router now all I want to do now is use the Time Capsule as a backup hard drive, wired via ethernet to my computer (my Macbook Pro does not have an ethernet port but is connected to a Thunderbolt Display which does). How can I make this all work?

Here is the exact order of my setup:

Xfinity WiFi login ---> Macbook Pro ---> Thunderbolt Display ---> (empty) ethernet port...

Thanks in advance!
