Retina advertises superior display, but has LED...

Does any one else feel ripped off about having bought a retina (a superior display that's supposed to put other displays to shame), only to find that when you turn up the brightness you will find certain parts of the screen (mostly the edges) pale and discoloured? Apple support has assured me that every Retina model has this issue to some degree, but how does that fit in with its supposed positioning as a superior and leading display that should ideally not allow for patchiness? Anybody else face the same problem? Try it out by turning up your brightness while looking at a black screen (maybe the beginning of a movie) and turning down the lights. Let us know the outcome please!

No, not having this problem. Did you talk to Apple on the phone? Or did you take it into a store and actually have someone look at it? I recommend doing the later if you haven't already.
