iTunes could not connect to this iPhone. you do...

My hardware is as follows:

iPhone 6S iOS 10.3.3

MacBook Pro Mid 2012

Mac OS Sierra 10.12.6

iTunes12.6.2.20

I just upgraded my iPhone from iOS 9.0 to iOS 10.3.3 and I have uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled trying to fix this problem. Setting up as new iPhone or from a backup has not changed the result. I've restored my phone twice hoping to fix the problem but still no good. I need to be able to connect to iTunes to restore from a backup on my MacBook. I have trusted the computer multiple times from my phone. Is there a fix for this?
