I have hundreds of playlists, and I know I can't be the only one. I have been a mac person since the beginning of Apple 2e and I have been there for the launch of OSX and Itunes. Playlists were originally created to make CDS easier, so that's why I have hundreds. I still organize my music by Artist-Album playlists because for whatever reason Itunes does not make album recognition easy, and it just becomes incorrect at times on how it auto sorts the music. I found many artists unorganized based on composer, artist w/ a featuring artist, etc. I hate the interface, so with that said I have hundreds of playlists and still make more as I keep getting more music.

The reason for this discussion is to find out if anyone has had any success on copying a playlist to an ipod/phone/etc. without having to drag it from the bottom of the list all the way up to the phone icon. It seems that someone at apple should have made a right-click copy to.... function by now. As many of you know, syncing playlists is a nightmare when you have many to sort through, and who has time to go through them all. When I get a new cd, all I want is to drag and copy it to my ipod and iphone, but god forbid should the artist start with an x or z.

Thanks to anyone who has found a solution for this. And no, deleting playlists, is not a helpful solution.

No it wasn't.

Playlists were created to make a list of songs.

Itunes does not make album recognition easy,

How is selecting an album not easy? And as you have noted, creating hundreds of palylists and managing them is NOT easy.

Why can't you select the album and drag it to the iPod or add it to one of a few playlists and sync?

Why not go the playlists and type x or z to go right there?

I can't even see how to sync my phone in itunes anymore. they used to have a simple view where I could see my installed apps, music and playlists, contacts, etc. None of that is available any more. Apple ******* ***** ***.
