Sister died, email closed, no account info for ...

My sister passed away last Oct. and I have her 2014 iMac. She kept horrible records and nothing about the computer. I was able to generated a new logon p/w but now I'm getting prompts for a Keychain p/w. Everything that I've found about changing it tells me that I need either the old p/w or contact Apple with her account number. The problem is that I have no clue what her p/w was and her email account is closed, for which I never had her p/w, thereby preventing any email from Apple getting delivered. Also, there is no CD in the computer so, apparently, the OS was installed when she bought it from Apple - at least I have nothing with which to restore/replace the OS.

How do I turn this into a viable, running machine with a new Keychain p/w?

Thanks. I was hoping there'd be a faster hack but this should, at least, get me a system that I can sell. I haven't had the time to do this yet, but it looks like THE solution. Thanks for your help.
