changing target disc

I swapped my HDD for an SSD and backed them both up, I bought a 27" late 2012 iMac to upgrade my 21.5" iMac also late 2012. I have successfully transferred my data from the 21 to the 27, but it's the hdd data that I transferred which is older data, I want to swap the hdd data for the SSD data on my 27 now (to get the newer/up to date data), how do I accomplish this please ?

i managed the transfer more by luck than management...I'm no technophobe!!

please help
