My iPod Shuffle keeps shutting off blinking red

I've had my iPod Shuffle since I was seven years old (I'm 12 now), and I've enjoyed all the songs on it because they can't be replaced since the iTunes account that had the songs on it was on a computer that crashed and I don't know the login for it at all; not even the iCloud address. Now that I've begun to use it more often, the iPod now shuts off after a few minutes and blinks red until I turn it off. I then plug it in to charge which turns orange then immediately green. It doesn't matter how long I plug it in for; it continues to do the same thing again and again. I don't know what to do to resolve this problem. Help!
