Apple watch locked with iCloud account how can ...
So basically my Apple watch is locked on a foreign country Apple ID - I'we brought it from someone online and that person seems that has scammed me, I have the original package and the invoice for the watch, Is Apple able to remotely unlock the Watch if I give them the Serial Number?
Any Info is highly appreciated as the watch was brought as a gift and has costed me alot of cash.
-Thanks in advance
Alvaro
Hi
You are describing Activation Lock, which prevents unauthorised use of Apple Watch if it is lost or stolen.
To be able to pair the watch to your own iPhone, you need the previous owner to either:
- Enter their Apple ID and password on your device, or;
- Turn the feature off via https://www.icloud.com/ by signing in with their Apple ID > Settings > My Devices > Click on Apple Watch > Click on the "X" > click on Remove.
You will not otherwise be able to use the watch (there is no way around this security feature).

no
Only the original owner can unlock it and until they do your watch is useless
contact the seller and have them remedy this or refund your money

If the seller scammed you that seller is most likely selling stolen devices. Hence the Activation lock is doing just what it is supposed to do.
If you are trying to activate an iPad iPhone or Watch and it is asking for a previous owners Apple ID and password, you have encountered the Activation Lock. This is a security feature that prevents thieves from setting up and using a stolen or lost iPad or iPhone. You have no alternative. You must contact the previous owner to get permission to use the device. If you cannot contact the previous owner return the device to where you bought it and get a refund. You will never be able to activate the device and no one can help you do it.
I have a similar problem BUT fortunately I have been in contact with the original seller. When I go to www.icloud.com/activation lock and enter the watch serial number, it comes back and says Activation Lock is ON. Apple Support confirmed the same over the phone. When the original owner logs in to his iCloud with his Apple ID and Password, then goes under 'My Devices' the Apple Watch is NOT listed there. He has actually sent me screen prints to confirm. So the Activation Lock is ON but his iCloud is not showing the watch linked to his Apple ID. When he tries to access the Watch app on his iPhone, it takes him to the pairing screen, as if no watch is currently linked,

This indicates to me that the Watch you have did not actually belong to the person you bought it from. Return the Watch to the seller and demand a refund.
The previous owner must login in to iCloud and go to Settings (not Find my iPhone). The watch will be listed if it is activation locked to that account. He can click on it, then remove it from the account.
@Ralph 9430 Fortunately he has a receipt from the Apple Store and Apple Tech Support is reviewing it. Assuming its a valid receipt (which I have no reason to believe its not), they will apparently 'unlock' the watch.
@Lawrence - he did exactly that (and sent me a screen shot), and the watch is NOT listed. Tech Support is perplexed because the watch is NOT showing up in iCloud, but somehow still has the Activation Lock on. They are saying it may have encountered an error when it was unpaired from the phone?? The owner provided Tech Support with his original sales receipt from an Apple Store. Upon verification, they are supposed to turn the Activation Lock off. Fingers crossed....
This originally did not work, After removing from my iCloud account I then had to enter my passcode for iTunes account into the new apple watch owners phone. It then prompted them to enter there iTunes account username and password into the apple watch set up and they then owned the apple watch and it is now attached to there devices and accounts. Hope this helps.
Yep Know that feeling for sure just did the same thing only i bought a 6s iphone and well have never disliked an experience so much. or a company's decision to add a feature like that.
That feature has reduced the theft of iPhones by 30%. Sounds like a really great feature.

Not a good idea to post identifiable information in a public forum. This is a user-to-user technical support forum. No one here can help you. Apple will not unlock it unless you are the original owner, and you have the receipt.
I have the same problem but paypal refunded my money so I am not worried about the cash. I would like to find the owner and return it. Is there a way to trace the owner that lost it or it was stolen from?
