Dropping support for apple pro aps

How is this different from a regular update?  Is it a payed update?  (I'm using final cut and logic)

I have no idea what you are talking about. How is what different from a regular update? What do you mean by regular update? What's an irregular update?

It was announced last week that Apple will be dropping support for the pro apps.  The press release just states that users will need to update.  What is confusing me is that why say that support is being dropped if all they need is an update.

It was announced last week...? I think you must be mistaken, such an announcement would create an ENORMOUS shitstorm on these boards, and I haven't seen even one single comma referring to "dropping pro apps support". Are you sure it wasn't an anouncement saying that certain outdated versions will no longer run on the newest OS? Because that would be business as usual (ancient versions losing support on newer OS's), and would not constitute any "dropping" of pro apps.

Logic is now at 10.3.2. FCP I don't know.

Apple have announced that several pro applications will no longer be supported in the next version of the Mac OS - macOS High Sierra.

In an email to customers which also includes a link to this support article they write;

"Customers using earlier versions of Apple Pro Apps—including Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, Motion, Compressor, or MainStage—need to update their apps to be compatible with macOS High Sierra, available this fall.
