Can I use 2 x 8GB RAM in my Mid 2012 Macbook Pro?
I have a mid 2012 Macbook Pro which currently has 2 slots for RAM in which I have 2 x 4GB RAM (1600 MHz DDR3).
Is this the maximum RAM I or could I find RAM for it in 2 x 8GB - so that I could upgrade it to 16GB?
Here are my full specs:
MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2012)
Processor 2.7 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Thanks!
Hi,
Yes, you can upgrade the non-Retina model to 16GBs of RAM.
Provided that you fit good quality Ram, yes. 16GB is the maximum the your Mac can accept and use, to ensure compatible RAM buy (only) from OWC or Crucial.
I recommend buying from a reputable seller, who offer 100% guaranteed compatibility and lifetime warranty, such as:
