iPod Touch won't open

Hello, my iPod Touch Generation 5 is not opening, and whenever I try to plug it in or turn it on, it briefly flashes the apple logo, I have tried plugging it into my MacBook Air to gain access to its photo's but nothing happens when I do plug it in.

My main motivation to regain access to my iPod is to recover the photos.
