since upgrade cannot send Excel attachments in ...

For some reason after upgrading to Sierra I can no longer send Excel attachments in Mail. I get an error message that "part of the message are still loading, please try again". I am using Excel 14.7.1which is the latest version.

An hour later I still cannot send my little 48k file.

Any ideas why this is happening?

That didn't work either but I did a restart and now the problem is fixed.Why I didn't think of that in the first place is bey9ond me.

Try putting the file in a folder and attaching the folder.

Good idea but unfortunately it didn't work.

Some email service providers intercept attachments in an ill-conceived attempt to prevent spam.

Try compressing the attachment before sending it by selecting the file icon in the Finder then File > Compress. That still might not work though.
