Huge automatic x

All of a sudden the Fade Out value in the Region menu is 698 when I'm comping. I change it to 0 then when I quick swipe a new comp section it automatically creates this huge x-fade. I have "No Overlap" set in the Drag menu. It was fine a few hours ago, just creating the usual small automatic x-fade. Have I accidentally hit something??? It's happening on all my files now too when I try and comp anything. I'd rather have no fade and have to manually create fades than to have this crazy *** big fade automatically happening! Any help would be greatly appreciated.
