Resynching without loosing Music

I used to keep my music library on my desktop PC, however my hard drive has corrupted and lost all of my data including my music. I have a copy of this music on my Ipod classic and I'd like to update it with new music from my laptop without loosing any of the old music.

How do I do this? Can I do this?
