Contacts: iOS deletes tick for "company" contact

I just discovered this weird bug, that is completely reproduceable, not only on my devices but also on those of at least three colleagues.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Create a new contact in the contacts app on the Mac(!)

2. Make sure to enter a company name

3. Make sure to tick the little box in front of the company to mark it as company contact

4. Wait for the data to be synchronized to your iPhone/iPad via iCloud

5. Use the contacts app on your iPhone or iPad and change anything for that contact (e.g.: add a note, or correct a spelling mistake in the address field)

6. Wait for the data to synchronized back to your Mac via iCloud

7. The box from step 3 will now be unticked again, and "contacts" will again sort that contact by the person's and not by the company's name

Is anyone else seeing this? Or are just all of our iCloud instances broken? Might this even be some sort of feature, I don't understand? Any workarounds for this?

Thanks.

Same problem exactly. Quite bothersome actually bc I have yet to discover how to set a contact in iOS as a company.

I find it really hard to believe that this is a current bug or design oversight! This sort of 'half baked' software should have no place at Apple.
