Accessing downloaded videos on iPad when offline
I have several purchased and downloaded videos on my iPad TV app that do not show up when I go to airplane mode. I used to be able to view them but they disappeared after recent updates to the app. Any ideas?
I'm not sure what else to suggest other than to backup, restore to factory settings and then restore the backup. I have tried this more than a few times and it has always worked for me since I updated to iOS 10.3.1. Perhaps reinstalling the iOS software using iTunes would do the trick for you.
This works very reliably for me since iOS 10.3.1 fixed it. Have you tried completely closing the TV app, restarting your iPad and then try again?
I restarted my iPad and it did not solve the problem. Any other ideas?
This is what I just did and it works for me. I don't know if it's a fix, but I can watch downloaded movies on my iPad in Airplane mode.
- Launch the TV App and go to Library>Downloaded. Make sure that you see your downloaded content.
- Force close the TV app by double tapping the home button and then swipe up on the TV app preview window in order to close it.
- Go to Settings>Airplane Mode>On.
- Restart the iPad.
- Launch the TV app and see if the downloaded movies will play for you.
I just tried the above steps and it still doesn't work.
I have watched movies many times on my ipad in the past but on a most recent trip, the downloaded videos disappeared as soon as I turned my iPad on Airplane mode.
Any other suggestions?

Thanks. I will give that a try.
Good luck. I hope that it works out for you.
Demo's suggestion should have worked, but this variation worked for me:
1. In Settings/Wifi, toggle wifi "off."
2. Hard reset.
3. When the iPad is ready, watch a home video.
4. If that works, turn the wifi toggle "on" again.
Thanks everyone. I got it working and was able to watch movie on my flight home last night.
Excellent, glad to hear that you got it working.
What did you do to fix it? I am having the same problem.
