Mail app on iPad Pro

I have an iPad Pro with an external keyboard the clips on the side via smart connector. Sometimes when I am in the mail app I can’t delete mail and sometimes I can. Not sure if this is a bug or what.

I have requested the mods move your post to a more adequate forum, as it has absolutely nothing to do with OSx 10.3, which is an operating system for desktop computers from 2003.
