Download movies & TV to watch offline

Download Google Play movies and TV shows onto your Android and iOS devices or Chromebook, so you can watch without a Wi-Fi or mobile data connection.

For PC, Mac, and other laptops and computers: Movies and shows purchased from Google Play can’t be downloaded onto computers, except for Chromebooks.

Download videos to your Android device, iPhone, or iPad

  1. Make sure your device is connected to Wi-Fi or your mobile network.
  2. Open the Google Play Movies & TV app Google Play Movies.
  3. Tap Menu Movies Menu and then Library.
  4. Next to the movie or TV episode you’d like to download, touch the download icon Download.

Note: To remove or stop a download in progress, tap the download icon again.

Download videos to Chromebook

To download Google Play movies and shows to watch on your Chromebook, use the Google Play Movies Chrome extension.

Download videos on multiple devices

Purchased videos

You can download purchased movies and shows on up to 5 devices using the same account. If you want to download a video to a sixth device, you'll need to remove all your downloaded content from one of the first five devices.

Here's how to remove a video:

  1. Open the Google Play Movies & TV app Google Play Movies.
  2. Next to a downloaded video, touch the red check mark .

If you don’t have your old devices or removing your video(s) doesn't solve the problem, contact our support team.
