Printing from iPad Pro and iPhone 4S

I have an iPad Pro and iPhone 4S running on iOS 9.3.5

My printer is a wireless Canon MP560.

I downloaded 'Canon Print Inkjet/ SELPHY' app from the App Store on both devices.

I can initiate scans and print pictures when I am in the Canon app from both iPad and iPhone.

But when I try to print an email or a document, Air print says no printers detected.

The iPad, iPhone and printer are on the same network.

What is the best way to setup printing?

Thanks.

Your printer does not appear to be AirPrint compatible which is the protocol required to print natively from an iPad or iPhone.  It needs to support AirPrint in addition to being wireless.

For this reason you need to use Canon's printing App to print anything.

You'll need to send any document you wish to print to Canon's app for printing.

For E-mails you may need to take a screenshot before you can print them through the App.

Turn on IPv6 on the printer. I guess it's the only protocol that works after iOS 7.1

I found the answer here.

Did it to mine, turning on IPv6, and it now works with all my Apple AirPrint devices.

No special app needed.
