AirPods not working for certain audio on MacBoo...

Just got my wife AirPods and we are both happy with them overall. Easy pairing with iPhone and MacBook Pro. On the MacBook Pro (Sierra 10.12.6) Spotify audio works fine. YouTube via Safari also works, pauses when you take them out of your ear and plays when you put them back in.

But she was trying to watch Comcast Xfinity TV in Safari and no matter what we do, the audio plays from the computer's speakers. We can switch right back to YouTube in another tab or the Spotify app and it plays over the AirPods like normal.

Anyone else had a similar problem? Suggestions please.
