On folders in iMac desktop

I have about 15 folders in iMac desktop. When I open any folder , it lists all other folders in desktop which is irritating as what I need to see is only one folder which I want to open. 

How do I solve this 

You put them there, so you need to figure out what they are and where they go. Note that if a folder has a curly arrow in the lower left of the folder then it is not a real folder but an alias to one. Aliases can be safely removed.
