switching between different keyboard layout

I want to have 3 different input sources in my MacBook: English-US, Chinese, and French.

When I switch from French to Chinese Pinyin input using control+space, I found my keyboard layout is still in French

which in this case, when I type "a", it appears to be "q" instead.

to avoid this problem, I have to switch to English-US first, then to Chinese Pinyin.

Is there any better (more convenient) way to avoid this multiple switching step.
