Importing spotify playlists to apple music

Is there a way to import my spotify playlists into apple music? This would save me a lot of time recreating them.

Spotify doesn't have an API that Apple could even use for you to do that.  In other words, spotify doesn't provide a way for apple to do it, not the other way around.

Actually, there was a way to import music into beats music (www.beatsimporter.com), but apple hasn't opened up an API for apple music yet. So... "There is no easy way to move your playlists from Spotify to Apple Music" https://www.theverge.com/2015/6/30/8871591/spotify-to-apple-music-migrate

Um. I thought Spotify had a pretty comprehensive API... ? I could be wrong, maybe this isn't supported.

It's definitely possible with the Spotify API. There is a third party tool called Exportify which can convert any Spotify playlist to a CSV; so we simply need a way to get a CSV into Apple Music.

I have found a solution and translated it to English here, go check it out

This is absolutely rubbish!

Of course Spotify does have APIs to gather this data like playlists. How do you think there can coexist 3rd Party tools which can play content from Spotify.

The problem is that Apple don't offer an API yet, to search to a certain song outside iTunes and there is also no API to access the iCloud playlists.

There is a tool for that

I may receive some form of compensation, financial or otherwise, from my recommendation or link.

You can try using iSpotMusic from ispotmusic.com it imports playlists from cvs files wich you for example can create using the chrome extension "Export Spotify Playlist"

@ryantut

here's my way of doing it (and an explanation of how it works): iTunes Music - Import From Spotify

Not sure if you're the actual Ramon Fritsch....... But anyways, I've always gotten errors (such as HTTP 403 etc) when trying to build playlists with the tool. Just doesn't work for me ever.

This, on the other hand, is very interesting. It's called Applefy. It finds all the songs and then exports them into empty mp3s. You drag the mp3s into iTunes and let it Match! Unfortunately, there have been some issues with that as well. (Sometimes the songs will sync across the service as 5 seconds and you'll have to change them to the actual ones.) I think Apple needs to build its own tool.. none of the tools we have work completely or reliably.

Attention don't use Ramon Fritsch's solution!!!

it's a paid version of this free script: https://github.com/simonschellaert/spotify2am

@ntomallen - no I'm nor Ramon! just found a link to him and added it for completeness.  I have never used his tool, so have no comment.

With regards to to Applefy, i'd question the legality of it (as you're talking about Match not Streaming)

@kalluessn - thanks for the tip; interesting to see the code and solution. Although my solution is not working 100% right now, I think my way is easier to novices (no proxies required etc), so I will continue working on it.

@clubmanplus850 sorry, I didn't mean you!! His tool is similar as the free version of that script. But (@kalluessn) his tool does make it much easier to use when dealing with several playlists. You simply have to run the script once and it will process all your playlists, as opposed to the regular script, which you have to do one at a time. Like I said, it never worked for me always. :/

The legality of Applefy is solid. As I said, it creates empty MP3s. i.e. 5 seconds of silence, just with all the metadata audio files can come with. Once you import those "tracks" into iTunes, Apple matches the metadata to the actual Apple Music tracks. At least, that's how it works in theory. In reality, Apple's matching algorithms f**** some stuff up, as they have since the beginning.

I was charging for that because I was generating all files instead of just giving part of the process away. And my script was way better and had better matching results with Apple Music. I really did put a lot of effort on that.

Anyway. Now it evolved to this:
