Siemens and Alstom join forces to create a European Champion in Mobility

西門子和阿爾斯通日前簽署了一份諒解備忘錄，將西門子包含軌道牽引驅動業務在內的交通業務與阿爾斯通進行合並。

Siemens and Alstom have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to combine Siemens’ mobility business including its rail traction drives business, with Alstom.

合並後的公司名稱將為西門子阿爾斯通。此次交易將軌道交通市場兩大具有獨特客戶價值和運營潛力的創新企業聯合起來。

The corporate name of the combined group will be Siemens Alstom. The transaction brings together two innovative players of the railway market with unique customer value and operational potential.

根據阿爾斯通和西門子最新一期年度財報，預計新公司擁有儲備訂單612億歐元，營收153億歐元，調整後的息稅前利潤12億歐元，即調整後的息稅前利潤率為8.0%。

The new entity will benefit from an order backlog of €61.2 billion, revenue of €15.3 billion, an adjusted EBIT of €1.2 billion and an adjusted EBIT-margin of 8.0 percent, based on information extracted from the last annual financial statements of Alstom and Siemens.

通過業務合並，西門子和阿爾斯通有望最遲於交易完成後四年內實現4.7億歐元年度協同效益，並在交易完成時實現5-10億歐元的淨現金。

In a combined setup, Siemens and Alstomexpect to generate annual synergies of €470 million latest in year four post-closing and targets net-cash at closing between €0.5 - €1.0 billion.

PPPs Can Help Fill Asia s Infrastructure Gap

亞洲開發銀行最新發布的一份報告稱，通過公私合作（PPP）的方式利用私有資本和專業技術知識，可以幫助亞太地區國家滿足其每年約1.7萬億美元的基礎設施建設需求。

Leveraging private capital and technical expertise through public-private partnerships (PPPs) can help countries in Asia and the Pacific meet their infrastructure needs, which currently stand at about $1.7 trillion per year, according to a new Asian Development Bank (ADB) report.

在《2017年亞洲發展展望》更新版的專題章節中，亞行對把PPP作為私營部門支持亞太地區填補其每年5,000億美元基建融資缺口的重要來源進行了分析。

The special theme chapter in the Asian Development Outlook (ADO) 2017 Update analyzes PPPs as a vital source of private sector support in the region’s efforts to fill the $500 billion per year infrastructure finance gap.

報告指出，如果得以妥善實施，PPP可以同時改善基礎設施和公共服務的提供，使之成為推動包容性經濟發展的有效工具。

The report notes that PPPs, when properly implemented, can improve both infrastructure as well as public service delivery, making them effective tools in inclusive economic development.

能源和交通一直是PPP項目的傳統重點領域，而衛生和教育則代表了PPP涉及的新領域。

Energy and transport have been the traditional focus for PPP projects, while health and education represent new frontiers in PPP delivery.

UBS issued the second Asia’s innovation series report

瑞銀投資銀行研究團隊推出最新亞洲創新係列報告，第二篇報告《私人助理、買手、旅行代辦人、設備控製人、朋友：人工智能助手能實現這一切嗎?》於日前發表。

UBS Investment Banking Research team issued the latest Asia’s innovation series reports. The second report 《Personal assistant, shopper, travel agent, device controller, friend: will AI assistants deliver?》was issued recently.

報告認為，得益於人工智能領域的巨大進步，人工智能助手正逐漸被認可，有能力給目前的科技生態係統、平台和設備帶來顛覆，長期看受到顛覆性影響的還有零售行業。

The report mentions that, due to the exponential progresses in artificial intelligence (AI), AI assistants are coming of age and have the ability to disrupt current technology ecosystems, platforms and device universes as well as the retail sector over the long term.

報告指出，人工智能助手進入加速采用階段。很有可能在幾年後，人工智能助手將無處不在，成為我們日常生活不可缺少的一部分。

The report says, AI assistants entering the acceleration phase of the adoption curve. It is quite possible (although not certain) that in a few years’ time, AI assistants will be ubiquitous and essential to us.

托尼·道格拉斯出任阿提哈德首席執行官

Tony Douglas appointed CEO of Etihad aviation group

阿提哈德航空集團近日任命托尼·道格拉斯為集團首席執行官，並將於2018年1月入職。

Etihad Aviation Group confirmed the appointment of Tony Douglas as Group Chief Executive Officer, who will join the company in January 2018.

道格拉斯先生現供職英國國防部，擔任國防裝備與保障部首席執行官，負責英國武裝部隊所有裝備和服務的采購與保障。

Mr. Douglas joins Etihad from the United Kingdom’s Ministry of Defence, where he has served as CEO of the Defence Equipment and Support department, responsible for procuring and supporting all the equipment and services for the British Armed Forces.

道格拉斯先生曾在阿聯酋擔任高職，最著名的是阿布紮比機場公司以及阿布紮比港口公司首席執行官，期間在他領導下哈利法港成功完成交付。

Previously, Mr. Douglas held senior positions in the UAE, most notably as CEO of Abu Dhabi Airports Company and as CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports Company where he was responsible for the successful delivery of Khalifa Port.
