Shuffle mode problems

Why when I select a song from my library, itunes turns off shuffle mode. I have iTunes 12.6.2.20

Because when you select a song to play, Shuffle mode is no longer controlling what to play, you are. That’s my guess, anyway. Makes sense to me.
