move apps from one page to another

am using iPad 5th generation iOS 10.3.

using the user guide instructions managed to move 2 apps to a  new page but any more won't budge. anyone know why this happens.

i have got a kludgy workaround & that is to move to the bar at the bottom of the display, go to the screen/page i want to move to then move from the bar to the page.

i'd like to move to the page directly.

anyone with a fix for this please?

Is the page you're trying to move them to full?

Each page holds 20 icons or folders.

Hi. It should be fairly easy.

Tap and hold the app.

While it's shaking, drag it to the edge of the screen, but not off the edge.

Wait for the screen to shift to the next page, and move the icon into position. You need to be a little quick here, to avoid going onto yet another page.

Another way is to hook up to the iTunes program on a computer. Then you can use the mouse to move stuff around at will.

Can you explain what you mean when you say the rest won't budge? As long as the icons are wiggling, you can press on any one of them and move your finger (while still pressing on the icon) to the right or left or up or down and the icon should move in that direction. If there are other icons in way of where you are trying to go, they should push themselves and everything after them down to make room.

Sometimes I've had to slide the icon i'm trying to move up and down a bit to find the 'sweet spot' to get it to go to the next page but beyond that I've not had any issues.

There are only so many pages tho. And a finite left and right.

There are little dots representing all the pages you could possibly be using. If you're on the far right page you can't go any further to the right. Same with the left.

Thank you all for your replies. My apologies for the delay in replying. For some reason I don't get, the responses only cam through to my icloud account 24 hours ago (from June). Anyway, I did have an iOS update & things began to change. I think the main issue is the processor or iOS itself isn't as quick as some other platforms. If I don't try to do things too quickly, it works. So I've learnt not to expect an immediate response from the machine. Once again thank you for your time in replying to my original post.
