Have I bought fake iMac? No startup tone :?

Hello! Can you please confirm that it s normal if my iMac 5k 2017 model doesn t have usual Apple start up tone? It just starts silent and loads login screen. Is that normal? On my old iMac I had startup tone every time I turned it on. Would be glad for any info!

Not necessarily.   Check Systems Prefs > Sound > to see if the speaker volume is muted.

There are ways to cut out that start up sound.   It seems to me you did not buy the machine from an Apple store, otherwise you could take it back for examination and repair.

It seems to be normal.
