Time capusule (3 TB model) has stopped doing au...

Time capusule (3 TB model/ Sierra 10.12.6) has stopped doing automatic backups.  I can still do them manually.  Turning the automatic feature off and then back on has not helped. The device is hard wired to my computer.  Any ideas?

Hopefully, you have not ever used another application like Time Machine Editor to modify the backup schedule on your Mac.

 

Try resetting things on your Mac in case the Time Machine Preferences file has become corrupted

 

Click the Time Machine "clock" icon at the top of the screen

Click Open Time Machine Preferences

Right-Click directly on the current drive icon that is being used for backups, which might be called "Data"

Click Stop Using "Data" for Backup

 

Restart the Mac

 

Set up Time Machine again to see if that will get things going again

 

If still no luck, the only solution may be to re-install the operating system on the Mac. Check with Apple Support before you do this.
