iMac Turns Off!!! Help Please
Recently, my iMac started turning itself off. When it goes into sleep mode, after a few days, it shuts down and requires me to unplug to be able to restart. When I put it into safe mode, it never turns off. I have tried multiple links to fix and it still continues. When in regular mode and using, it will also power down by itself or if I put it to sleep, it turns off.
I have removed log ins from the Settings menu. I have reset the SMC and used safe mode to see if it duplicates. Also, go figure, my Apple Care has expired. My only option is these forms or to pay a fee to talk to Apple to diagnose. I need to fix it and wondering what may be causing the issue. If there is nothing else to do, then I guess I will need to pay to speak to Apple and then ultimately take it in to a store. Kind of ironic I am posting to this form with a HP/Windows PC. It never stops working. Not sure Apple computers are all they are cracked up to be. I have a $2,200 brick on my desk for the time being.
Any suggestions to fix this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Can this be done in Safe Mode? I only ask because the last two attempts to unplug/reboot my Mac, as soon as I go open something, it shuts down. I will run and post in the mean time.

It's going to take some time and testing on your part, to sort out what is causing the problem. It looks like iCloud, the MyBook or a combination of the two.
Try this:
Sign out of iCloud.
Eject and disconnect the MyBook.
Shutdown and reset the SMC, as per > Reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac
Restart in Safe Mode. Then restart normally and test the iMac for at least one full run/sleep/wake/run cycle.
If it reacts normally, reconnecting the MyBook and test the iMac for one full run/sleep/wake/run cycle.
Then if your using iCloud, sign back into iCloud and test the iMac for one full run/sleep/wake/run cycle.
In addition, run and post an EtreCheck result in-between each of those step, so that we can compare the results.
I signed out of iCloud and ejected and disconnected MyBook. I shutdown and tried to reset the SMC; however, I had to wait more like 5 minutes to get the Mac to power back on. Then, in regular mode, it immediately shutdown upon entering my password so I can't do anything in that world. Restarted in Safe Mode and re-ran EtreCheck. Here are the results. I'll add one back at a time but not sure if much value in Practice mode.
PS: now I can't remember my MyBook password either. Gulp!!
