how to open 2 Finder windows (2 Bookmarks windo...

How can I open two Finder windows at the same time?  How can I open two Bookmark directories at the same time.  The point of both actions is to compare and manage files by comparing what is in different areas and rearrange by draging files to desired areas.  My big project is that I have two separate massive folders in my Bookmarks that I'd like to look at side by side to then drag bookmarks from one folder to another, to end up with only one folder.  I could do this in Windows but I'm still new at Mac.  Thanks in advance for all the help.

Thanks.  After a few tries, I figured out that "this icon" you refer to is, again, the Finder Icon in the Dock that I was to right click on.  For Mac newbies, it's important to remember not all clicks are NOT the same.  Only when I HELD the right click down did the options come up to select New Finder window.  Thanks for your help mende1!

First, open a Finder window as normal (press the left icon on the Dock). Then, right-click this icon, and choose "New Finder window", so you will get a second Finder window and you will be able to go to the folders you want on these windows to compare and move files between different folders

You are welcome

So now I'm trying to open two Bookmarks windows with the same technique to no avial.  any suggestions on how to have 2 Bookmarks windows open at the same time to clean up with dragging and deleting?

Thanks again!

Hmmm, I think I just figured it out. Can't do it on the Bookmarks icon, but by opening another Safari window with the method above can select a different Bookmark folder, now I'll see if I can drag and rearrange files between the 2 windows...

With Finder Open, Right Click on one of the two Folders you wish to view and select "Make an Alias".
I then drag the Alias to my Desktop just for ease of locating and later deletion.
Double Click the Alias to Open it.
Then, using Finder go to the other Folder you wish to view or compare to the one opened via the Alias.
By using this process you can open as many Folders as you can fit on your screen...
Happy viewing.. Gary
