Water on my external keyboard

I was using my large screen monitor with my laptop and my external keyboard. My laptop was closed and intact. I spilled a small amount of water on my external USB keyboard and now some of the keys are not working. I have unplugged it from my monitor now. Will it completely dry after a few days and work or is there something else I need to do? Or do I need a new external keyboard?
