why is iMac screen blinking momentarily repeatedly

Hi, I have an iMac and for no reason I can fathom, the screen will blink like it's shutting off briefly for just an eye blink  and come back on. Like if someone was messing with the power as with a brown out or some such. The power at my home is not the cause. The iMac doesn't do this all the time, but has been more often as of late.

Anyone else having this disturbing problem too? It's a bit scary because activities like this have occurred while a hard drive is failing and with solid state drives,,,,,that's a little spooky.

Thanks in advance for anyone who can lend an eye and a hand with this issue. My iMac is still on warranty so if it needs that type of repair I'd love to know before something happens during the busy days here at my studio.
