exit x missing from top of page

Go to Settings>Safari>Show Tab Bar>On. If that is set to off, no tabs appear in the toolbar. If this is the only website open in Safari, you have to tap the double squares icon in the upper right corner of the screen to get to the X to close that last screen/tab.
