How to copy

How do you do this on a Mac?? I'm trying to copy greater than 400 characters of text from a text-box, and all that is in the copy-paste buffer is the single character '-'.

Why on earth would a freaking OS not be able to copy text...

There are a variety of methods. One is to click once at the beginning of the text and then scroll to the end and hold the shift key down while clicking at the end of the text. That will highlight it. The press command C to copy.

I suspect that is similar to what you have already tried. If it isn't working you may want to reply with more details regarding where this text box is -- what application or what web site, how you are viewing the "copy buffer" etc.
