erase pending

First of all why doesn't apple have online chat support?!?!?! This is crazy. My daughter locked my phone. It says connect to Itunes. i dont want all my messages, notes, pictures etc. deleted, however, as of now i do not have a choice!! I had to erase my phone through findmyiphone on my computer and according to the online instruction, it is magically supposed to erase and backup and i can go on about my day with erased data that i really needed!! livid. So.... i connect to apple.com, go to find my iphone, click erase, do the security questions, AND NOW it says "pending erase" with a "delete erase" option. what in the world is "pending erase" When will my phone be erased because its now been 30 minutes and my phone is still disabled. My phone is connected to my computer, i am receiving calls, it is charged, it is connected to a cellular data because it says "MetroPCS LTE with 4 connection bars. I have the Iphone 6 IOS 10.1.1 and yes i do have the serial number but do not have it synced with itunes because you need the phone unlocked to sync! Major problem. can anyone help?

As the phone is disabled it's too late to take a new backup and/or copy any content off it.

Cancel the online erase and use recovery mode and your computer's iTunes to reset the phone back to factory defaults : If you forgot the passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled - Apple Support
