HDMI input on MacBook

I have to use a Sony camera connected via a HDMI cable to a computer.

I was thinking to buy the new MacBook.

I want only to be sure that the HDMI port supports also the input, not only output.

Note, that you would need the $79 adapter to get a HDMI port. I have never heard of a computer being used as a HDMI input device though.

The shipping time is only 1-2 business days unlike the multiport adaptor which has a shipping time of 4-6 weeks.

BTW, only external display monitors are HDMI input equipped as its operated by computers like MacBooks.
